Beaten...But Better!

It was a familiar sight on Tuesday night as The Yellows were beaten by an inform Hereford. This was a tricky fixture that ,on paper, seemed like a definite defeat for Town but the visitors put up a valiant effort.
It seemed it would be the usual after an early goal from Jaiden White but Town found resilience and continued to grow into the game. It was then when Lee Williams produced a wonderful flick finish off of Elliot Morris' low driven cross to draw Town level! This was the Stockport County Loanees first goal for the club as he produced a fine performance in a more central role. Town pushed on from the equaliser and managed to find a second goal around the half hour mark. Matty McDonald laid off a ball onto Mo Doro, who managed to work himself into a goalscoring opportunity and fired a shot past the Hereford keeper! Mo Doro kept the trend going of players opening their Yellows accounts as the former Oldham man smashed in his first for the club, followed by a celebration formerly used by one Connor Woods. Town were winning an away game for the first time since Peterborough (back in December) and had scored two goals in a single game for the first time since Darlington (back in October). The lead didn't last long though as Ceesay equalised three minutes after but Town had a lot of positives going into the second half. It wasn't to be though as White bagged a second which proved to be the winner as Hereford claimed all three points in a 5 goal thriller.
Although it was a defeat, Town can be proud of their performance as a real fight and effort was shown from the boys and ,if anything, it proves Carden's words right in that we aren't going down without a fight and that there is still effort to give. Maybe this is the start of something great or maybe survival is too much of a task but the players are still playing for the shirt and that's something every Town fan can be proud of.
