The Town Reporter has had a delightful first season running. What started as a simple blog that was required to be done for a journalism college course, has turned into a passion that will continue to operate after the college course is completed. After an eventful season with many highs and some lows, we look back on this blog and see the very best moments from myself and The Town Reporter, including several exclusive interviews.

Interviewing Toby Macormac- preseason.

Right after the announcement of the stadium renovations at Cantilever Park, The Town Reporter was able to get an interview with The Yellows Chairman and CEO, Toby Macormac.

This insight gained access into the planned work and reasoning behind why it wasn't done sooner. I would like to thank Toby Macormac personally for this interview as it was the first I had conducted and he was very helpful and understanding throughout the process of it all and for that I'm very grateful.

Interviewing Matty Grivosti- Warrington Town 4-0 Scarborough

After a big win at home to Scarborough, The Town Reporter was able to get an interview with Warrington Town winger Matty Grivosti about his thoughts on the match. This was the first of a few top performances from Grivosti ,following star boy Connor Woods 3 match suspension from Hereford. We were able to see the result from someone who played within the game and this interview was used in the first of my match reports. Grivosti handled the interview really well and gave great answers despite having just played in the game.

Interviewing Helen Dobson- Training Session

By far the best interview I think I've conducted, The Queen of Football in Warrington gave an incredible insight to The Town Reporter about how it is managing to be the Chairwoman of the club, being club captain (which she assured she didn't just make herself captain), and playing and training every week on top of all that. Her insight was definitely unique and Helen became the first woman I interviews. Credit goes to Dobson also as her cooperation with the interview as well as helping with the arrangement of it and helping me getting another interview was just incredible and I'm very grateful for it.

Interviewing Danielle Burns- Training session.

Danielle Burns gave a great interview after volunteering to do an interview during Warrington Town Women's midweek training session. She gave lots of great answers and it was unfortunate that I asked her what it was like to play in that game against Liverpool Women Under 21's, as she was injured for that game but adapted her answer really well. I have Helen to thank for this also as she asked Danielle if I could interview her.

Interviewing Dec Walker- Warrington Town 1-2 Gloucester

After our home defeat to relegated Gloucester, I interviewed one of our own in Dec Walker to get his thoughts on the game and the situation as (at that point) Warrington had only won one of their last 5 home games which was against relegated Bishops Stortford. Walker was definitely annoyed as his answers I think reflect his emotions which I quite like about the interview as it was something different. I thank him none the less as I would not have wanted to do an interview after losing in the second of the game.

Honourable mention- Instagram interview with Sean Walsh

Another interview I conducted, however not recorded, was with Warrington Town photographer Sean Walsh who told his great story on how he got involved with the club to now being the official photographer of the club. The interview was done through instagram due to Walsh not being able to attend the Boston home game and a deadline for a new story I was writing, having to be in for the Monday after the game.

These interviews were incredibly fun, challenging and informative and have definitely helped and improved my skills so that more can be done. Next season, I will look at doing match reports as well as more interviews so that they can be posted on The Town Reporter socials. Thank you to everyone who has helped this season and to everyone who has read my blog, looked at my posts and followed my socials. This is just the start and things will only get better.
